Read 1 Corinthians 9:7-8a

One day I was visiting a recently arrived family to America. They had a new baby which, to be honest, was one of the major reasons I dropped by…to see the little guy. They were excited and so was I. Our congregation was growing quickly, and I could hardly keep up with the visitation requests.

As I was invited in I saw the newborn wrapped lovingly in a clean white…newspaper. They didn’t have any blankets or baby items so they improvised with what they had. So…I put together some things from various women’s groups and was able to provide blankets, clothes and diapers.

I was able to relate the story of another family on a journey, of a child born over two thousand years ago, whose family improvised as well. I was able to say that the blankets and other items represented the love of other believers for them personally, This family was brought closer to the Savior because of such small acts of love. Eventually I was able to stand before the congregation and dedicate that baby to God.

Father, today I ask that You help me do one little thing to help another stay on the path. Allow me the opportunity to lead an individual to You through an act of love. I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
