I attended a beautiful wedding last week in a church that is a landmark piece of architecture but pretty much empty now. Population shift caused the original congregation to unite with another church which leaves this structure pretty much empty. A reality for many believing communities around the world.

As we headed for the entrance a person passing by asked, “Is there a wedding or did someone important die?” We replied a wedding. He nodded and as he walked on I heard him mumble, “Thought so. No one goes there any more.”

Dear Brothers and Sisters on the path this week invite someone to church. Stop and help someone, take a moment to ask for spiritual directions. Pray God keeps us relevant in our communities, in our families in our cities. Please God may those around us never have the chance to say, “No one goes there anymore…”
