As you listen to the news you wonder, you just wonder if the time is drawing near. I mean wars, fires, volcanoes, rampant poverty, sex trafficking and the list goes on and on. You almost hear the prophet Joel speaking in your ear…
Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn;
wail, you who minister before the altar.
Come, spend the night in sackcloth,
you who minister before my God;
for the grain offerings and drink offerings
are withheld from the house of your God.
Declare a holy fast;
call a sacred assembly.
Summon the elders
and all who live in the land
to the house of the Lord your God,
and cry out to the Lord.
Alas for that day!
For the day of the Lord is near;
it will come like destruction from the Almighty. Joel 1:13-15
But then I looked out at the meadows at our friends house and this is what I saw…do you see It? Yes there it is a path, a Halak, a way through the valley, through the hills and darkness. No matter how rough our God walks with us. More than that provides us companions to walk with us.
