(To walk along life’s journey with our Sheperd)

Psalms 1:1

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Okay Pastor why did you name your blog “Halak?” The Hebrew word for walk is halak (haw-lak) which basically means to walk a certain way along life’s journey (AHLB). A great example of halak in connections to this verse can be seen in Genesis 17:1 where God tells Abraham “I am the Almighty God; walk (halak) before me, and be thou perfect.” Obviously God is not teling Abraham to actually stroll before him but to direct his life in such a way that he will receive all that God had promised to him. Since the basic meaning is to “walk in a particular way along life’s journey” I felt this would be a great heading for our time together as we read and study, as we question, listen to sermons, as we meditate and pray we will walk along with our Shepherd. I look forward to hearing from you and meditating with you over the coming days.
